2024 wrapped: Your last Prosser Knowles update of the year!
It’s nearly the end of 2024, and our whole team is taking stock of the amazing 12 months we’ve had.
Read on to discover all the highlights of 2024 from the Prosser Knowles team.
We welcomed 3 new team members into the Prosser Knowles fold
This year we expanded our team, welcoming three new people into the Prosser Knowles fold.
Marissa Edwards joined our Client Services Team as Senior Client Administrator, helping us to bring only the very best service to you, our clients.
Jenny Billingham also joined this team as Client Operations Manager. She says, “I joined Prosser Knowles as I have worked in client services for over 10 years, in a number of different industries.
“I have been recruited into this role for my experience in the client journey, team development, and caseload management. I am responsible for the service we deliver to our clients, the processes, and the team behind it. I enjoy supporting my team in achieving their goals, watching them deliver great client outcomes while progressing in their own skills.”
Finally, Stephen Ollis joined as Head of Compliance and Risk. “I have almost 20 years’ experience working in finance and compliance.
“Being the Head of Compliance and Risk involves managing the current risks in the business, while also trying to find the most appropriate way to deliver high quality advice to our clients and taking into consideration the current guidance from our regulator, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).”
Wedding bells are ringing!
Congratulations to Senior Associate, Jonathan Bissett, who married Hannah this summer. And, many congratulations to Financial Planner, Alex Bengtsson, who got engaged to Emma.
Our team has continued studying and gaining new qualifications in 2024
All our financial planners complete a minimum of 35 hours of relevant continuous professional development (CPD) each year, with at least 21 hours of structured learning.
Thanks to this commitment to CPD, four of our advisers have successfully passed exams this year.
What’s more, Millie Court, a member of our Client Services Team, has successfully sailed over another hurdle towards the completion of her DipFA – the Diploma for Financial Advisers – by passing the Tax Examination in November.
Congratulations to our hard-working cohort who are always striving to better themselves and achieve greatness.
We continued raising money for local charity, The Family Haven
If you read our newsletters every month, you’ll be aware of the amazing work The Family Haven does to support vulnerable families in the Gloucestershire area. Focusing on families in need, this organisation offers a lifeline to parents and children in distressing or disadvantaged life circumstances.
This year we raised the sum of £7,400 for The Family Haven. Much of this was as a result of the success of our referral scheme, where we contribute £50 to The Family Haven each time an existing client recommends us to a friend or family member. Thank you to our clients for your generosity of spirit in referring us to your loved ones – vulnerable families in Gloucestershire will benefit directly from your recommendations.
Here’s a photo of Vanessa Coates, Nikki Price and Charlie Bonell presenting another cheque to Lucy Pearce of the Family Haven as a result of the Prosser Knowles Referral Scheme.
September’s Wolf Run also raised £1,494, much of which was contributed by our loyal clients in sponsorship. In case you missed it, you can read about the Wolf Run and its participants here – thank you to all who contributed funds.
At Prosser Knowles, we endeavour to support as many worthy causes as possible. We have cherished our time getting to know the amazing individuals at The Family Haven and raising money to support them – and in 2025, we’ll be selecting a new charity to work with. More news to come in the new year!
We “moved house” to a new office in Gloucester Docks
We’ve been growing fast over the last few years, working with many more clients and adding to our team of financial planners and support staff.
This means that we outgrew our offices at Staunton in the Gloucestershire countryside, and this year, we moved into a new home in the heart of Gloucester Docks. Our new office occupies the entire 4th floor of Llanthony Warehouse, above the National Waterways Museum. This is a beautiful Grade II-listed building that provides much better facilities for our clients at the heart of the city centre.
Our office in Droitwich Spa remains open too.
After an amazing response to our recent event, we’ll be hosting more Equity Release Weeks in 2025
We ran another successful Equity Release Week in October, after holding our first of these events in December 2023. The Equity Release Week is designed to help both clients and newcomers plan for their retirement by considering whether equity release is an appropriate option for them.
After running this event, we realised that there’s plenty of need for bespoke advice around the subject of equity release. So, we’ll be running a quarterly Equity Release Week in 2025 – keep your eye on our newsletter for the dates!
Clients continued to show support for our financial planners through VouchedFor
VouchedFor is a review site for financial planners, allowing clients to put their experience into their own words and recommend their planner to others.
We’re proud to report that our VouchedFor success has only grown in 2024, meaning we were once again featured in the VouchedFor Top Rated Guide for this year. This was published in The Sunday Times in September. Thank you to all our clients who left reviews – your kind words mean the world to us.
Read our VouchedFor reviews and, if you’re a client, write about your experience of working with your financial planner.
Improving technology for the benefit of our clients
In an ever-changing world of technology, one of our key focuses in 2024 was to build new digital tools for our clients. We have been offering these new tools to a small group of clients who have responded very enthusiastically regarding their positive benefits.
We are now pleased to share the news that from the beginning of 2025 we will be accelerating the roll out of a new Prosser Knowles Personal Finance Portal (PFP), giving our clients the ability to view all of their finances in one place, 24/7, on any mobile or web device.
PFP will enable you to gain greater insights into the performance of your investments, a cashflow tool to support your wealth decisions, and the ability to access online support directly from your Adviser. Your financial planner will be introducing you to the PFP over the course of 2025.
Finally, and most importantly…
We wish to express just how grateful we are to all our clients for putting your trust in us year after year. In this often-chaotic world, it’s heartening to know that we can truly help you and your family to build a brighter future.
We wish you a restful holiday season and look forward to seeing you again in the new year.
