Meet our specialist mortgage and protection team

Buying, refinancing, or extracting wealth from a property is one of the biggest decisions you can make for your future. But with the mortgage landscape changing all the time, and the cost of living continuing to rise, it can be hard to know what’s right for you.

What’s more, you likely want to shield what you hold dear from unexpected shocks. If so, financial protection should be a cornerstone of your financial plan – but many still don’t have it.

Here at Prosser Knowles, we have a team of specialists dedicated to mortgage and protection matters. Keep reading to find out what this team does, who they are, and how they might be able to help you.

Meet the mortgage and protection team

Rachel Robb

Rachel joined Prosser Knowles in 2012 as an apprentice, and has worked her way up the ladder, now a fully authorised financial adviser specialising in mortgages and protection.

Her role in the mortgage team is to meet with clients, talk to them about their options, and arrange the appropriate solution for their circumstances.

She says, “I love helping clients with mortgage and protection matters, because I get to make a real difference in their lives – whether it’s securing their dream home, finding the right financial protection or giving them peace of mind for the future. It’s incredibly rewarding to guide people through important decisions with confidence.”

Andrew Prosser

Andrew has spent 30 years with our firm, and is specially qualified to advise on mortgages, equity release, long-term care, and protection.

Andrew’s breadth and depth of experience is integral to our team.

Andrew comments, “As an equity release adviser, I love my job because I help clients gain financial freedom in their later years. Seeing their relief and joy when they realise they can enjoy their retirement, support loved ones, or ease financial worries makes it incredibly rewarding. It’s all about giving people confidence and peace of mind for the future.”

Natalie Link

Natalie is a member of our client servicing team and has joined our mortgage and protection group to ensure clients receive second-to-none care throughout the process.

Having been with us since 2008, Natalie knows our clients so well, and we’re grateful to have her support in this area.

Natalie says, “For me, client services is all about creating positive interactions and making people feel valued. It’s so satisfying to know I’m helping clients achieve their goals and ensuring they have a great experience with us.”

Why we put this team together

After the Covid-19 pandemic caused some turbulence in the mortgage market and threw many people’s financial stability into question, we felt we could offer clients more in this area.

So, in June 2023, we put together our mortgage and protection team, with the aim of providing nuanced advice and adding value to our clients’ experiences. Whether you already have a financial planner at Prosser Knowles or have never engaged with us, we’re confident that we can help you find the right package of protection for your needs and handle property decisions with certainty.

Note that financial protection plans typically have no cash in value at any time and cover will cease at the end of the term. If premiums stop, then cover will lapse. Cover is subject to terms and conditions and may have exclusions. Definitions of illnesses vary from product provider and will be explained within the policy documentation.

The Financial Conduct Authority does not regulate Lasting Powers of Attorney or will writing.

Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on a mortgage or other loans secured on it. The Financial Conduct Authority does not regulate buy-to-let (pure) and commercial mortgages. Think carefully before securing other debts against your home. Equity release will reduce the value of your estate and can affect your eligibility for means-tested benefits. A lifetime mortgage is a loan secured against your home. To understand the features and risks, ask for a personalised illustration.
