Helping vulnerable families build a brighter future
We’re proud to be a corporate partner of the Family Haven, a charity supporting vulnerable families since 1988 by providing a range of services to help improve the quality of their lives, strengthen their relationships and build a support network to reduce their isolation.
The Family Haven is an independent, local charity in Gloucester helping parents and their pre-school children by providing a warm, caring and supportive day centre where assistance and encouragement is available to help them to improve the quality of their lives. The vision of the charity is a society where appropriate help and support is available to all families who need it.
The charity works with an average of about 60 families per year comprising around 80 adults and 100 children. Many of the families come from vulnerable backgrounds and lead very challenging lives. Without the support of the Family Haven, many of these families would slip through the net, they would retreat further into themselves and become even more isolated. Being an independent organisation, the charity is able to treat each family individually and offer advice, guidance and support to help them feel empowered to make changes themselves.
The Family Haven has set a target to raise over £250k over the next year to support families with young children and provide them with access to healthcare, education, therapy, welfare support, emergency housing and the opportunity to gain employment. With our help, we can help them to achieve this:
£10 : Provides art materials for nursery play sessions
£25 : Enables 90 minutes of support for a parent in need
£50 : Gives 25 children a healthy lunch
£250 : Affords transport for a local day trip for our families
