Charity work, new starters and more in your latest Prosser Knowles update
Welcome to your latest Prosser Knowles update. Here, you’ll learn about all the latest happenings in our business – including charity work, exam success, new starters, and happy personal events occurring within the team.
Let’s dive straight in!
Our new charity partner: Primrose Hospice and Family Support Centre
We are proud to announce our new partnership with Primrose Hospice and Family Support Centre, a local charity dedicated to helping patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families in times of need.
Primrose Hospice offers a compassionate hand to those in need, ensuring no-one faces this journey alone. As an independent charity based in the heart of Worcestershire, Primrose Hospice offers a warm, caring environment for families coping with life-limiting conditions. Their vision is a society where every individual and family has access to the care and support they need when it matters most.
When an individual is referred to Primrose Hospice, the team takes the time to review their circumstances and guide them toward the most beneficial support services for their specific situation. The hospice’s approach is holistic, meaning they consider not only the medical needs but also the emotional and social aspects of care.
The services they offer include:
- Counselling
- Clinical support
- Support groups
- Benefits advice
- Complementary therapies.
Taken together in whatever combination a patient and their family may need, these services ensure everyone has access to help.
Primrose Hospice has set a target to raise £1.95 million this year to sustain essential support for families facing life-limiting illnesses.
Every little helps, and with our fundraising efforts, we hope to provide the hospice’s service users with even more opportunities to receive support.
- £10 provides three nutritious meals for a patient who attends the day hospice.
- £20 enables a child to attend a child support session after the loss of someone special.
- £35 covers an assessment by an expert clinical team to identify the care and support a patient requires.
Hannah Isaac, Primrose Hospice Corporate Fundraiser, says, “We are incredibly pleased that Prosser Knowles are now proud Primrose Partners! As an independent charity, Primrose Hospice is relying on the kind support of businesses like Prosser Knowles to help us raise nearly £2 million to continue offering our vital services to the community. I am very much looking forward to developing a long-lasting and fruitful working partnership with the team.”
This support makes a real difference to patients like Frank, a Day Hospice patient, who shares, “They care about every individual that comes here, they really do, and speaking to the rest of the chaps, they all seem to think it’s a wonderful place to be. It’s not the end of the world by any means. In fact, they reckon it’s the start of life, not the end of life, which is really brilliant.”
Primrose Hospice was chosen as our charity partner through a company-wide vote, demonstrating the strong support from our staff for this important cause. Please follow our news page for updates on our efforts in support of the wonderful work of Primrose Hospice.
If you would kindly like to make a donation to Primrose Hospice, you can do so here – any amount, however small, is greatly appreciated.
Phil Batson retires after 30 years, and we welcome new faces to the Prosser Knowles team
Phil’s retirement
Phil Batson retired from Prosser Knowles on 31 March 2025 after more than 30 years of loyal service to our clients. The occasion was marked by a lunch with colleagues past and present, and Phil was presented with a beautiful photo book prepared by his colleague Laura, which chronicled his career at Prosser Knowles. We all wish Phil a long and happy retirement.
Say “hello!” to Nicola Crannage at our Droitwich office
The next time you visit our Droitwich office you will be met with the smiling face of Nicola Crannage. Nicola has some 25 years of experience in administration and customer service and been a valued member of the Prosser Knowles client services team for the last four years. Nicola has now taken on full-time responsibility for reception at Droitwich, so please say hello to her when you visit next.
Welcoming our new Operations Analyst, Sarah Casey
Sarah is one of our new team members, joining us as an Operations Analyst.
A qualified financial adviser, Sarah now works in data analytics. She is fascinated by improving efficiencies for companies like ours, and we’re so grateful for the wealth of experience she brings to the team. In particular, Sarah will be helping us to use essential software, Intelliflo, with efficiency, maximising its potential for colleagues and clients.
Sarah says, “Prosser Knowles is a great company to work for; everyone has made me feel at home and has been incredibly supportive.”
In the interest of getting to know Sarah better, we asked her a few important questions…
- How do you most like to spend your time outside of work? I have a six-year-old who keeps me busy, usually talking about Marvel superheroes! I always have a book on the go, love Lego and spending time with friends and family.
- The last book, film, or TV series you recommended to someone (and why)… Grey’s Anatomy – you wouldn’t want any hospital you were a patient at to be anywhere near this dramatic but it’s held my attention for nearly 20 years.
- Is there a quote or motto you try to live by? “It is what it is.” Not exactly inspirational, and a bit of an in-joke, but my husband reckons it’ll be written on my gravestone.
- An achievement you’re really proud of… Gaining my financial diploma while getting to grips with a new management role and planning my wedding. I like to keep myself on my toes!
Introducing our new Senior Client Services team member, Ed Morgan
Ed joined Prosser Knowles at the end of April 2025 as a Senior Client Services team member.
Before joining Prosser Knowles, Ed worked for various wealth management firms in similar roles and offers a great deal of expertise in the effective management of clients and client outcomes. He will be a great addition to our existing client services team.
Outside of work, Ed is kept busy by his son’s sporting activities and after-school clubs. When Ed and his wife do have some spare time, they enjoy eating out and taking their dogs on long walks.
New qualifications for 3 hardworking team members
As part of our commitment to continued excellence, all our advisers undertake 35 hours of continuing professional development a year. In addition, a number of our colleagues have passed significant milestones this year.
Millie Court qualifies as a financial planner
Congratulations go to Millie Court, a senior member of our client services team, who has passed all of her LIBF DipFA exams and coursework and is now a fully fledged financial planner.
We’re so proud of Millie’s achievements and can’t wait to see what she does next.
Two financial planners become Chartered Associates
Another significant achievement for two of our established financial planners: Daniel Morris and Jonathan Bissett are now both recognised as Chartered Associates of the London Foundation of Banking and Finance. This is a huge accolade and is testament to Jon and Dan’s hard work over the years.
