Our 2023 year in review

What a year it has been. Like most, this year has come with ups and downs, and we’re so grateful to all our clients who have trusted in us throughout 2023.

In our final company update of the year, we’re looking back at all our highlights from 2023 – plus, what you can expect from Prosser Knowles in 2024.

Celebrating 1 year in our new home

In June, we celebrated a year in our Droitwich Spa offices. “Moving house” was quite a feat for us, and we’re so glad to have this new, bigger space in which to welcome clients.

Our new specialist mortgage team hosted their first event in December

As you might have read in our recent newsletters, this year we put together a specialist team to help our clients understand their options in a tough mortgage market.

Andrew Prosser, Natalie Link, and Rachel Robb form this expert team who, in the week of 11 – 15 December, ran their first event: Equity Release Week.

This event allowed those wanting to learn more about equity release to visit us in person and discuss their options in a no-strings-attached conversation with our team.

We were happy to welcome so many of you through our doors. Our mortgage team have even more plans in the works for 2024, so watch this space!

Extending our community initiatives as a team

We’re proud to be a part of such a close-knit community, and this year one of our missions was to increase our contribution to our local area.

First, we expanded our educational outreach. In July, Laura, Matt and Aaron visited Stourport High School’s career day, an event organised by the Severn Academies Educational Trust. The team hosted a finance quiz and chatted to young people about careers in financial planning.

Then, in November, our team started the first of many community initiatives by going litter picking at lunchtime. As part of a local scheme with Wychavon District Council, we plan to take part in many more days like this one in 2024.

Our work with The Family Haven led to thousands in funding for the charity

Our partnership with The Family Haven has been extremely special to us here at Prosser Knowles.

The Family Haven works with vulnerable families in Gloucestershire, providing support to those experiencing poverty, fleeing domestic abuse, and going through many other life-altering circumstances.

We’re proud to say that our partnership with this organisation has helped them serve many more families in 2023.

Our Golf Day in June raised nearly £1,000 for the charity.

Plus, back in April, a few members of our team helped out at the Colesbourne Gardens Snowdrop Open Days, where The Family Haven raised more than £3,000.

And, most astonishingly, our partnership with The Family Haven has helped them to secure three years of funding from BBC Children in Need – that’s £25,000 a year until 2026. With copywriting help from our appointed marketing agency, The Yardstick Agency, the organisation successfully applied for this funding which will help those who need it most to get back on their feet.

What’s more, we have begun a new charity recommendation scheme that will help raise funds for this organisation.

When you recommend someone who becomes a client, we’ll donate £50 to the charity. The goal is to raise an additional £5,000 for The Family Haven as we expand our services and make room for more treasured clients.

Weddings, engagements, new starters, and more!

It’s been an eventful year for our team, with weddings, engagements, anniversaries, and new beginnings all celebrated throughout 2023.

Weddings and engagements

In July, accounts executive Lisa Checketts married her partner Andy in a traditional church ceremony.

And, our financial planning consultant Jon Bissett proposed to his partner, Hannah, this summer too!

Congratulations to both couples on such lovely news.

Professional anniversaries

Kay Holden, our associate director, celebrated 25 years with Prosser Knowles in 2023.

Plus, Natalie Link marked her 15th year working with us.

We’re lucky to have two such dedicated individuals as part of our team – thank you to both Kay and Natalie for your commitment to our business.

Welcoming a new team member to the fold

This year we welcomed a new person into the Prosser Knowles fold – Hollie Pearce, who is now the head of operations and risk here.

Hollie’s role entails overseeing the efficiency and risk management of every process within our business, from managing clients’ finances to working with platform providers and other external operators.

We’re so glad Hollie decided to join our team – she’s already become a valued part of the family.

What to expect from Prosser Knowles in 2024

Of course, we’re always striving to be better, as your financial goals lie at the heart of everything we do. If we can make a difference to your life, we’ll go above and beyond to make it happen – and that will never change.
